Sunday Snapshot-Camping

We just arrived home from camping for the weekend.  We went with "the cousins".  We all played hard with many different activities.  At the end of the day some were just a little tired. Our nephew Sam was on the verge of needing a bed but I could not resist taking a photo of that face!

We went to the lake to fish and play in the water. With all this heat we have had it was so warm to wade!

The women and the children in the family.  I loved this perspective of all of them.

When we asked Riley his favorite part he said making this fort.  He would sit in here and whittle on his sticks.  Maybe he just loved the peace and quite!

Joining Sunday Snapshot.

The first photo was taken with my Canon d60 lens 50 mm.
f 4.0, ISO 3200, shutter 1/84.  Shutter was a little too low for me but the light was running out very fast!
Edited in CS5 with levels and curves.

Favorite Friday Photo- Saying Goodbye

This was the week that we told Coda our dog of 12 years goodbye.  Coda was Brian's first baby in a lot of ways. As a disclaimer I am not an animal lover but even I have felt the loss of this dog.

It had been many years since I have taken photos of her.  I knew how much these would mean to Brian after she was gone.

When the time came to say goodbye everyone did it in their own way. Some drew photos for the grave and others brought flowers.  Tears were shed and then the sun came out the next day.  She was a watchdog at heart so we have concluded that in heaven she is watching over us in her own way.

Sunday Snapshot-More Water

Time for more swimming for the Prichards. Seems as though we can never get enough water.  This shot of Riley is from this morning.  He finished swimming lessons this year. A chapter of his life is done.  Was he the same three year old that screamed through those first classes:)

I couldn't resist. I love to take photos of "things" from life and these goggles were calling my name!

The first photo was taken with my D60 lens 35 mm.

f 4.5 shutter 1/1250 and ISO 100. It was very bright out during the swimming time.  I edited this photo with CS5 and the M4H action warm rain at a lower opacity.

Girl Scout Camp- Part II

One more posting of Girl Scout Camp. I just could not leave out some of these photos.  We were there only from Friday until Sunday but a lot happened in that time!

When a girl scout can not make a fire due to fire bans they do the next best thing...make them out of candy. I have to say I needed this little sugar boost mid afternoon:)

Of course a good girl scout practices for a time when we can build are a real fire.

It was cute to see Mom do this with Brianna. Years ago she did this with me also.

Cornstarch and water = a lot of fun!

One more activity, we needed a puppet show so sock puppets were in order.  It was some good mother daughter time for the generations.

Favorite Friday Photo- Girl Scout Camp Part I

Girl Scout camp was last weekend.

Brianna was our main girl this weekend. She would go with Mom and I to camp.

The time spent there was filled with activities from morning to night.  It was fun to experience so many activities with Bri. A little archery to show her brothers up is always good.

Three generations for a weekend.

Of course Mom and I are teaching Bri to share our love of photos.  A little coaching and sharing was in order in our cabin.

A beautiful hike was one of my favorite activities. Not so sure about all the girls but in time they will appreciate the beauty outside.

Sunday Snapshot- A gift from Korea!

Miss Katie received this very pretty robe from a friend who was recently in Korea.

Katie is usually a very willing participant for photos.  She kept saying take more take more.

The girl has a smile that is her trademark in life.

When she is relaxed you will see it come out on her.  She loved this robe so much it has become her pj's this week:)

I took the first photo with my Canon d60 and 50 mm lens.
It was at a shutter 1/126 and f 2.6.  I did a little editing of this photo in photoshop with some curves.

Favorite Friday Photo-A girl and her bike

It was time for a new bike for this tall eight year old.  Grandma and Papa found her a very cool bike!! This will be the last of Bri's birthday but I just couldn't leave this really fun bike out:)

I think bikes may be my new found love in photography.  There are some really cool ones out there.

Fake Flowers

I am still sorting through all of Bri's birthday photos.  When I came upon this I knew I had to post it.  When she made her birthday list "fake" flowers were almost to the top.  Fake flowers...I didn't quit understand that one. So when I asked she said that when she teaches ballet she has to have flowers for her girls:) That is the heart of Bri for sure.

Sunday Snapshot-Worn Out

This family has played so very hard this last week. With a great ten year old visitor and Brian on vacation the week of the fun was never ending.  However, now some of us are exhausted and this was the scene this morning in our hotel.

After saying goodbye to our dear friends we headed to the downtown of this little mountain town. I have so wanted to do this and just take some fun photos of anything I see and find interesting.

It was a trip for just the bigger kids as Andy and Katie had Grandma and Grandpa time.

I loved so many fun items and Brianna found a few favorites of her own.  What a fun week we have had!

The first photo was shot with my Canon d60.  Shutter 1/63, ISO 6400, f 2.0.  It was taken with my 35 mm lens.  I edited in photoshop with M4H actions with an adjusted opacity.

Favorite Friday Photo- Friends

This week we had a very special friend at our house.  Ben and Riley have known each other from the time they were babies.

Six years ago, when we decided to move closer to family, telling these friends of ours goodbye was one of the hardest days of my life.  During these years we have managed to stay very close and for that reason the same has happened with our kids.

We meet up several times of year to see each other. This time Ben would come for a week to stay with us and boy have we had fun.  This photo was the first day these boys ever meet!

They have spent the week playing and camping. Today was the highlight of the week spent at a huge water park.  All that a boy could love.

It will be time for Ben to head home soon but we are so grateful for this time and can't wait to have him again!
