Sunday Snapshot-Learning

I love to learn and have new challenges. That is why photography and I are getting along. That weekend workshop is pushing me.  It is making me think about how much more I want to learn and I decided to start with these little triplet beauties. They are adorable and just full of life. They would giggle together on command you couldn't help but laugh and smile too!

Very soon I will get back to my four little loves as I know they have been missing from the blog.  I just had to have one more day to edit a couple of our models for the weekend.

365 Photos-Catching Up

I did not forget my 365 days of photos. However, this week has been about getting back into the groove and catching up.  I had these photos saved to add to my album for the 365 day project and decided to post them all together. I will be more on track next week. They are the beauty of PA. They aren't of people but they bring special memories of the women I meet and photographed with at these spots. And those bluebells...well a flower in my favorite color..enough said!
Tomorrow will be the last post of some of our models from last weekend.  I am hoping for a little sleep as I have been running for a week now on very little. Don't get me wrong I prefer it that way but I might need a little rest today!

Favorite Friday Photo- A Magical Weekend

A week ago today I was packing and dreaming of a photography workshop weekend. I didn't know what it would hold but I was anxious to get to PA to learn all I could.

Once there the magic would begin. Our teacher and mentor, Lisa, was truly amazing.  She is a talented teacher and we all learned so much.  It was a group of women who all came from different places and yet we all blended well and created friendships that will last long after our time together.

Saturday was filled with models of different ages.  The young ballerina caught my eye. She represented one of my passions in life.  This beautiful nine year old touched my heart. She couldn't wait to do this for us!  It was her first time modeling for all those photographers!

I have spent the week looking at different perspectives of my photography as I dream of where it may go.  I didn't have time this week to edit all the models but Sunday's post will bring the rest.  They all were so fun to shoot.

I was nervous what last weekend would bring and now I have already told Brian I will go back one day!  It was so much fun! Thank you to Lisa for all your hard work and thank you to all the women who attended with me...life through the lens is looking different already!

(More wonderful photos on Sunday!)

Look at Lisa's blog for all the photos from very talented photographers!

Favorite Friday Photo- One more last taste of winter

We have been praying for moisture and the prayers were answered.  This was our view at home yesterday!  This weekend is going to be filled with a lot of fun!  More on that to come but photography is a huge part of it and amazing women!

Sunday Snapshot- Laterns

For Easter the girls had received these lanterns to paint. So on a Friday morning they spent the time creating.

And then a little brother showed up.  There is always a lot of squealing such as don't touch don't move and you know he just eats it up. It is the brother in him.

Katie is very meticulous. She always has a vision of the outcome!

Miss Bri is always about color and I do believe a butterfly appeared on there.

365 Photos-Day1010

A photo of the day which is so true of life...crazy dinners. Always thankful for what I canned the summer before as well as my crock pot!

Favorite Friday Photo- Black and White Photography

Trying to learn something new in photography this week and decided to use Miss Katie and a couple of myself. There is nothing like a photo to see age.  They say those lines are something to be proud of but honestly I am still getting there.

My sweet girl is always happy to help me out.  She is still young enough to love these kind of moments.  They are all four pretty used to it but I try to choose my models depending on their moods on a particular day!

For years we have called these Eskimo kisses which is very fitting for this week of coldness. I know I have a long way to go but love the black and white photos so hope to continue to learn more about that style of photography!

Yarn Along

At this current time I knitting a hat for me.  It is my favorite color and it fun to just knit something simple.  One of the joys of parenting is bringing a little of your favorite past enjoyments to your children. My favorite set of books will always be Little House on the Prairie.  Over the years I have tried to read them to kids and about the time you hit Farmer Boy they are done.  My sister was talking about reading it to her little one so I decided to try again. I thought even if I have to read this all out loud to myself then that is what I will do and little by little one or maybe two will sit by me and listen.  I have even now heard some requests for this book!

365 Photos-Day 99 The truth

I have a lot of blogs that I follow and love to read.  This has been part of my daily routine for awhile now. I love how the blogs are pretty and have words that touch or change me in some way.  So this is how I want my blog to be is "pretty".  However, some days and life is just not pretty.  This was just one of those days.  The hard days.  A "snow" day with no snow to really play in and little people who are  not so happy.

The girls seemed to find their fun.  A day of no hair do's. Their favorite "do".  A day to dig out all those "friend" legos.
And look who after lunch decided that I was just ok to play a game with.  So maybe life is really always "pretty" in the end!

365 Photos-Day 98

This is my first "cheat" photo of the 265 project.  I wasn't home enough yesterday to use my camera but this was a weekend shot..may spring come all the way soon!

Sunday Snapshot- A baptism

Today was a special day for Andrew as we baptized him.  He did very well and had family around to celebrate his day. He shined in his red with his new cross from his grandparents.

He has come along way in these past five years.  It has not always  been an easy road but this boy shines and his smile is captivating.  Most of this time in our church it is babies who are baptized but I really think for Andy this was just the right time.

Favorite Friday Photo- A step back in time

After six months in a photo class with Lisa it was time for the final assignment. Choose an inspiration photo and try to get the same look or style of the photo. My first reaction was to panic and tell Brian there was no way I could do that.

After some sleep and dreaming about this shot I decided I wanted to try a vintage kind of feel.  Brianna would agree to be my model. So I spent a month choosing a location, getting a dress, and some fun props to go with the theme.  Then it snowed!

A week later we took the photos and then edited them in not my usual style. It was a great way for me to try something new and the photos in this class were amazing. These women under Lisa's never failing help and support turned out some amazing photos.  What a journey it had been as each woman showed her true self in the photos she took.  It wasn't easy for me but now I just have some photos that will be on display in our home.

Wishing you a great weekend. Spring is coming!
