Favorite Friday Photo- Fall seems a little closer

August in our home is about a lot of kitchen time and the start of school schedules.  Some easier to wrap our heads around than others.  It is a time for all the carefree days of summer to be gone as we look towards a year of learning and from I am seeing eating a lot of peaches!

For all the anger I felt towards the grasshoppers who loved my garden I still won in some respects. Everyday there is more tomatoes to eat or can and zucchini for yet another night.  We have all done some snapping of beans and shelling of peas, most of which are eaten before I can even cook them. I have to say this is my favorite time of the year when I walk outside to find dinner.  School work has been a little harder to wrap our heads around but we are getting there!  After all it will be cold soon and isn't that the perfect time for a book!

Sunday Snapshot- The lake

Our last weekend of camping for this summer.  I actually can't believe how much we camped.  Truly I didn't ever think I would camp that much but here I am.  It has been fun and some real family time comes with it.  Andy had to try out his brother's wading boots and go out in the float tube.

I will share some more photos this week but I am tired tonight and life resumes tomorrow.  Had to leave you with the beauty of the lake at dusk.  Pretty much perfect!

Favorite Friday Photo- Grapes Galore

Papa had a great grape crop and some little hands got some work and fun out of it!  For the record it takes three kids an hour and half to take off stems of a cooler full of grapes!

Next week...grape jelly!!!!

Sunday Snapshot- A "little" red

It is the start of canning season again and I love it!
We had a little grasshopper war this year in our garden so the first beets to can were my Dad's. Today I ended up with ten quarts of my own.  They are a tad bit messy though.

But the end result is wonderful.  I saw a couple of yellow leaves this week. That can not be true!  Football has started and our beloved Bronco's have played. There is still much to do outside and I am hoping this wonderful weather lasts a long time.

We finished our first week of school.  Four tired kids by the end of the week but on a whole everyone did fine.  A semi quite weekend was in store so we will all be ready for this week.

Favorite Friday Photo- Wedding time

Last weekend we traveled to my cousins wedding and our nephew Sam was the ring bearer.  It was a beautiful wedding and isn't there just something about watching a beautiful bride walk down the isle to her groom.  There is that feeling of new beginnings and the beauty that love itself brings.

I am sure Sam was not so thrilled with Aunt Teri again but a five year old in a tux...well I couldn't resist.  We all had so much fun seeing family and dancing that night away!  Wishing this beautiful new couple all the good that life can bring them!

Lucky Seven's

Look who turned seven today!  They also started first grade! A big day!  A night filled with all they desired to fill their little tummies. Both wanted homemade pizza and fruit for dinner.  They agreed on that part but had their own ideas of dessert.

He wanted a "blue" cake and she wanted lemonade pie.  So we all had our fair share of dessert.  I can't believe my "babies" are seven.  They bring us so many blessing in life in their own ways!  Excited to see what seven is all about for these two!

Fifteen years of Marriage and a Middle Schooler

Fifteen years ago we were twenty two and twenty four.  Fifteen years ago the world was ours. We both had degrees, we had our first little rental house complete with blue carpet, we debated over when or if to have a family, and basically we were young and in love.  Fifteen years later I still love Brian to the moon.  He is the rock in our house and always will be.  He is the calm and a wonderful father and husband.  Yes marriage has its lows and highs and we have experienced all of them and will continue to.  The family we couldn't decide to have has grown to six (more if I had my way:)) and life is busy, full, and fun. When I think back on this day it was HOT!  One hundred degrees in that dress was something else. I remember seeing Brian down the isle and walking in with my Dad.  I think of all the faces in the crowd many who stand by us today.  The world was ours but we were not as wise as we are now.  If it is in God's plan we will see many more of these anniversaries and with it our plans and lives will change, but through it all love will be what it is today and more.

As I think about what life was at twenty four I saw today what it is like at thirty nine.  I dropped Riley off at middle school today.  A little tough on this Mom and no camera's were allowed. He is lucky mine is in the shop:)  I know he is going to fly and we are so proud of him!

Favorite Friday Photo-Capturing the Beach

Our time at the beach was priceless.  It was a true time to relax which for my Italian blood rarely happens. I had an assignment to complete and with the gift of this cool old camera I had an idea.

We took these photos in the middle of the day.  Full sun and reflecting sand wasn't that easy but we had so much fun doing this!

Everyone played a part in these photos even though you can only see two of our family members.

We created some memories this day.  I have many more to share from the beach and after a week of wear and tear my poor camera has to be sent in. So the blog may just get caught up now:)
