Today we will celebrate this young man's twelfth birthday. I can't believe this day has already come. Time seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. |
He is our first. The one that made us parents. The one who we are testing out our rules on. He is the one we are going to have to let fly with his own wings in the not too distant future. |
Riley is very good at letting me take photos of him. When I took these photos I saw how very mature he really is. He was the first to call me Mom although his first word was Dad! lol |

Precious. This reminds me of Steamboat, CO. I have a train pic in the snow. These images of your son remind me of my own. Also our first, also a sweet, patient boy. He's not yet 9, but I'm dreading the "wings to fly" portion of this journey. It will be too soon. Cherishing the precious moments. Right there with you on the emotions of it. :) Happy birthday to him!
p.s. I fairly consistently remind him that he'll always be my "baby." :)
that was such a lovely post! I have a 12 year old son as well and it amazes me how fast these 12 years just passed up by
I could really feel your heart in this post as a mom of a 12 year old myself! Riley sounds like an amazing young man, and I know you are proud of him! Love his photo shoot! Thank you for joining us this week!
My son is about to turn seventeen in a couple of months and it does pass in the blink of any eye. And this year my daughter went to her fist year of college...it was a long drive home. I'm still not quite ready for all of it! Beautiful photos!
Happy birthday to Riley!! What a great young guy he sounds like he is becoming!
Happy Birthday to your big boy!
I love the photos and your post my friend!
