Time at Girl Scout Camp

Last week I took my girls and my niece up to Sky High Ranch Girl Scout Camp.  Many years ago I too stayed up at this camp as a young girl.  I was lucky to have been able to attend camp many years and those memories are some of my favorite.  I was so hoping that these girls would feel the same and be asking to go back next year.

I was right they are asking to go back. The stories they are telling and the songs they are singing melt my heart.  

This camp had not changed since I was there and it was like stepping back in time. I loved the fact that in a world that is so fast  my girls could take a break from that and spend time in a place that was simple and peaceful.

Meeting someone like me

Every once in awhile in life you meet someone who is like you in so many ways!  Last month we meet my sweet friend Gayly and her awesome kids.  We had meet on line some time ago, but this was our first time of meeting in person.  When I look back on this summer this will surely be one of the most amazing days!

These two boys were from the same region in China.  They had so much in common that at times it seemed unbelievable.  There will be more meetings of these boys and their families.  Andy spent many days after talking about them and feeling a connection that has not been felt before.  

There were many comments about finding a family like ours and sharing similar stories, challenges, and triumphs.  Thank you Gayly for meeting me, it was an amazing day!

Family Camp

A couple of weeks ago we headed to the mountains with extended family to spend some time together.  In total there were eight kids which meant it is never boring!  These kids rode bikes all over and even did a little fishing.  

We took the kids to a pond that was great for fishing, but it seems the playground equipment was more of a hit.  It was definitely a full merry go round with our crew.

The morning that we were leaving.  Everyone was little dirty but that is all part of the fun.  These kids get so much out of being together as they are not just cousins but also friends.

Summer is speeding by as we are hoping to have some more trips to the mountains as well as some down time at home.

Celebrating Eleven Years

Happy 11th Birthday our sweet girl!  It is hard to believe that Miss Bri is already eleven.  She is becoming her own person with her own loves and passions.

One of them has become horses and her love of riding lessons.  I think she loves that fact that this is her activity something that interests her alone in our family.

I know when I watch her ride she is all smiles and loves these animals.

She is becoming a very sweet young woman who loves both people and animals with her whole heart.  So now to start a day that is filled with all that is Brianna!
