Sunday Snapshot-A new sweater

There was a new sweater made for Miss Abby for her sixth birthday.  Those blue eyes she has just draw you in.

This is the finished sweater. I had started it this summer on the beach which means I am a little slow but all is good. The button has meaning to me as it was in my Grandma's stash that I inherited.

Whenever I see Abby she is full of hugs and kisses for me.  Have to love that.

This photo makes me wonder what her thoughts are.  I love taking kid photos as they are just fun to watch.  They don't spend time thinking they just react.

Favorite Friday Photo-Adoption

Adoption has and always will be so very close and dear to my heart and now my sister and her husband will share in this journey.   I was lucky enough to be asked to take some photos for them for their portfolio.  How fun was that..thinking couples make very fun photography subjects:)

As anyone who has adopted can tell you the road is filled with twists, turns, and the unexpected.  In the end the dream is to have a new little one to kiss and hold (and photograph:)  I can't wait and we pray daily it happens soon.

They have so much love to bring to this baby and he or she will be well taken care of.

So now we wait and pray for as we know there are two sides to adoption. I feel it daily and they will too.  Praying I get to be an aunt one more time!

Sunday Snapshot {or Monday} the sweetest sound

Sunday brought very sweet notes to this mother's ears.  We had just come off a week with totally crazy schedules, the start of fall sickness, and a Daddy who was hunting, but then on Sunday the sweet sound of Katie's voice hit my ears.  She had her first piano recital and also sang a couple of songs.

I was nervous for her but she played like a champ.  That toothless grin just set the cuteness in her.

I always feel so blessed when we have family around for different milestones of our kids lives. Sunday was no exception as we had family there for Katie. One in the audience was my cute little niece.  If only you could hear her talk it would add to the cuteness!

I am a little late posting Sunday this week...looks like it is more of a Monday post but hope all your new week is going great!

Favorite Friday Photo- Pioneer Days

Last weekend included a trip to a Pioneer farm for the cousins birthday party. Anybody who knows me knows I love this kind of stuff...anything old:)  There was so much to do for the kids and even though it rained most did not care:)

The kids were allowed to participate in three different activities from the past.  Of course a ride in a wagon was one.

How about some old time kid fun and games.  Uncle Brian and Sammy had some fun trying out those stilts.

The party took place in a one room school house.  There was a some exploring to do both upstairs and down.

This toothless beauty was very happy on her wooden horse.  I loved it there the pure kid fun we are just going to have to go back sometime.

Sunday Snapshot- Tea Time

Miss Brianna has been invited to quite a few birthday parties recently and one was a tea party. They had to dress up and Bri loved this.  It was her own style, her own way and it was cute!

When I dropped her off there was all those bite size snacks and girls running all around in dresses.  How fun wished I was eight too at that moment.

Brianna is a girl of comfort. She does not like jeans and has many other ideas about what she will and will not wear.   It was good to just let whatever go today and let her doll herself up her way!

Favorite Friday Photo- A cute little boy

Last weekend I was a lucky Aunt who had a chance to take these five year old photos of our nephew Sam. Of all the photos this is my favorite.  I can see my Dad standing just like this...plaid shirt and all!  We found this little "field" just a half a mile from our house. How many times I have driven by and not seen its full potential!

Sam is all boy.  He loves to be rough and tough.

This photo makes me wonder what he is thinking?  If I had to guess I would say he is dreaming of being a cowboy, thinking of bucking broncos, dreaming of hunting with Uncle Brian, and I just learned one day him and his Dad are going to own buffalo!!

How fun is it to be an Aunt!!

Sunday Snapshot- "Winter" Soccer

A little bit if fall soccer was in order this weekend! However it felt more like winter.

Riley eats this sport up.  It is very fun to watch him and I could tell this weather in no way was bothering him!

Brianna played her heart and and with it brought the team three goals.  She has had a horrible cold this week so not sure this cold did her any good. A girl has to do what she needs to no matter what!

Andrew has also done well at soccer this year. No more bribes on the sidelines this year for this boy. He is out there running and playing hard but today we had a little "down" time.

I think Katie wanted to know if it was half time yet?? She like her Mom loves summer and no socks!  We were both really happy to get by the fire this afternoon!

Following along with Sunday Snapshot.

My first photo was taken with my 70-200 lens.  f 3.5, 1/2000 and ISO 2000. It was very foggy outside which was fun because the light is so not an issue but had to watch out for the rain!
Edited in CS5 with curves and a little texture.

Favorite Friday Photo- Backyard View

Last weekend was the balloon festival where we live.  This was the view right outside our house. The people in the balloon were talking to the kids and they were so excited.

I so wanted to figure out how to take photos of the kids and the balloons all at the same time but could not really figure it out.  The kids were trying to get ready for soccer at this time and were literally running in an out of the house as they enjoyed one of these rare treats! It was a beautiful day out and the  sky was filled with all different colors and patterns.
