Sunday Snapshot- 365 photos and Cookies

My third week of January means we are back to selling Girl Scout cookies.  I always have flash backs of being a little girl this time of year.

A knitted hat for my Dad.
Our little Manning fan looking out at a day of snow.
Sweet Brianna with Po.
Inspiration for a photo shoot.
Lots of wood, so thankful for warmth.

A night in the big city.

A new week sits in front of me.  Filled with a lot of the same and how thankful we are for that.

Favorite Friday Photos- A little dramatic

I had started a new photography class with Lisa and I needed to take a few dramatic shots.  The minute Brianna heard this she told me this was something she could do. This young lady is very dramatic. She loves hard and has a strong will that mirrors my own.

I love these photos of her.  I love how they are simple yet show feelings. I think the best photos out there are the ones with raw emotion. Oh if I could only take those kinds of photos one day!

This was such a fun session with Bri. I see so much of me in her and sometimes that is good and other times it is not.  I love her through it all, I have a Mom who did that for me also.

On to another weekend.  A sneak away with my sisters and Mom is in the near future!

Have a great Friday night!

Favorite Friday Photo- Friday's Cuteness

One of my favorite little models.  She just may have been blowing kisses at her mom!

This little one was brought into my sister's family by adoption. The love this little one has from all of us fills an ocean or two I do believe.  Then again could you not resist kissing those cheeks!

A little friend always makes a photo shoot that much better!

Happy Weekend Friends!
We don't have a super busy weekend planned and maybe a sweet Bronco win on Sunday would make a least part of this family very happy!

Seven Years Home for Miss Katie

Seven years ago today we meet this sweet little lady for the first time.  Our hearts were already in love with her.  The first time I held her, saw her, and kissed her were moments that will live in my heart forever.
This is my favorite photo from that day.  I remember how it felt to hold her and to feel a baby I had longed for.  She changed our lives, she taught me how deep love truly can go.  She taught me the sacrifices of a birth mom for a love that I am privileged to have.

This little lady of mine put adoption in my heart and soul.  Her smile lights the world up.  I tell her I love her to the moon and back and she laughs, but she knows it is true.

On this Gotcha Day for Miss Katie there are so many memories of these past seven years.  We celebrate by a dessert of her choice and watch a video of the day we held her for the first time.  I pray each night that someway and somehow her birth mom will know she is loved and taken care of. We made a choice to adopt and Katie changed our lives. She also changed that of her siblings and  those who know us.  Katie, we love you forever!

Sunday Snapshot- Week One -365

Last year I tried to keep up a 365 photo project on my blog daily. Truthfully it was hard to do.  I love the idea of a photo a day as it makes me remember the little things in life.  I believe these moments truly make us who we are.  So this year a photo a day is taken and put on the blog once a week.

This week:
-Those silly bracelets the girls can't get enough of
-Morning blues
-Back to school
-Our future teacher's door
-A phone for the oldest...what a learning curve for parents
-Weekly trip to library
-The beauty of our view

Favorite Friday Photo- A little helper

After a little snow storm this past weekend we headed into a week of "normal" life.  To start off the week Andy was very excited to do some shoveling. These are the sweet days when they ask to do chores, and yes I know it will not last!

The kids all seemed happy to be back with friends and schedules. A little bit of shock rang through the house at the early rising times that were once again expected. Poor Miss Katie she so dislikes those mornings.

We went back to scouts, basketball, piano, and dance as well.  I had two dancers who took their first pointe class this week.  They were so cute and giggly as they put on their pretty pointe shoes.  I remember that day myself so it was fun to have this opportunity to teach them.

A weekend with nothing on the calendar.  Almost feels like a mistake but we have one more week before games start.  I can think of lots of projects that need to be done. Wonder who will volunteer this weekend to help?

Favorite Friday Photo-Christmas Recap

A look back over the last week.  A time of giving and being a family.  The kids spent so much time creating in their rooms to make gifts for everyone.  It was fun to see how excited they were to give along with the thrill of their own packages.

We also had a lot of time with family and cousins.  So many laughs and so much playing time.  I wanted to pull just some of my favorites from the week to share.

Now on to 2014 with all it holds for us.  I like the feelings of fresh starts, new dreams, as well as a time to reflect on the blessings of our lives.  Happy New Year!

A little shy

As the holiday season comes to an end it was time to look through all those photos and choose some of my favorites.  This niece of mine made the top list for sure.  She is seven months now and is starting to get a little shy.

Grandma's arms felt very secure compared to the cousins running all around.  In time this baby girl will be right with all of them. She is the queen of the house that is for sure with all the requests to hold, feed, and play with her.

We have one more weekday of break. It has been good filled with  family and events. I do feel the need for routine again which will happen soon but we will love family time for just a couple more days!
