Girlfriends in lavender

A girlfriend is probably the only person in this world, who understands exactly what you are saying even though if you may not really be talking.

These photos are from last spring that never made it on the blog.  I love lavender and am anxious for my own this summer!!

Hoping to make it back one day to take more photos in this lavender field!

Favorite Friday Photo- Photos of a week

A look back at last week. It was all about scouting it seemed. The yearly derby race, and a slumber party for the Girl Scouts.

Sweet yummy lemons from a friend's tree!

The luck of this Irish boy.
A little family history.
Great friends for dinner.

An awesome project for middle school with cardboard boxes and all that goes into making them float .

We have been loving our spring break.  It is coming to a close but we have a couple more days of fun and adventures.  I have so many photos to catch up on and hopefully that will happen soon!

Favorite Friday Photo- Daughters

A daughter is the happy memories of the past, the joyful moments of the present, and the hope and promise of the future.  ~Author Unknown

I had photos of me and the boys and now needed to include the girls.  These girls of mine love hard, disagree often, and bring a lot of joy in my life.  I used to dream of tutus with a daughter, lots of fancy dresses, and tea parties.  I have learned a lot. They have their own style, prefer pants to dresses, and would rather wrestle with their brothers than drink tea.  This is what makes them who they are, and not only can I live with that, I love that they are finding their own style.

My hope for these girls is that they grow up to be strong women that chase after dreams.  Of course we do have the mother daughter battles. I remember my own with my Mom. One day when I am done making the rules and guiding them I hope they call me friend.

Sunshine

A little photo shoot on a beautiful night with Miss Katie.  I love this time of year and that sun in the evenings has been amazing.

We are almost to spring break. We are so ready for no real schedules for a week!!!!

I am thinking the garden will be getting a good start next week, maybe we can all sneak in a little more reading, and just some good old family time.  Plus a little trip to see some family!

Maybe one night we will get out and take some more photos in that FABULOUS light!  Can you tell I love this time of year!!

Happy 12th Birthday!

Today we will celebrate this young man's twelfth birthday.  I can't believe this day has already come.  Time seemed to pass in the  blink of an eye.

He is our first. The one that made us parents.  The one who we are testing out our rules on. He is the one we are going to have to let fly with his own wings in the not too distant future.

He is a sweet young man and has an amazing sense of patience with his younger siblings.  He loves math and dreams of being an engineer.  He loves the great outdoors and is working towards becoming an Eagle Scout.

Riley is very good at letting me take photos of him. When I took these photos I saw how very mature he really is. He was the first to call me Mom although his first word was Dad! lol

Riley I hope you know how much Dad and I love you.  God has given us twelve great years with you and I hope for so many more.  I know one day you will be so ready to fly but until then we are going to treasure each moment with you.

Happy Birthday!

Sunday Snapshot- A week in review

A day out with two women that I love and admire.

A lot of spring fever in my soul.
A month of green for my Irish children.
Have to love my two "Life-Size Zoo" readers.
A good report makes any Mom's day.
An afternoon of tying knots for Boy Scouts.
If Mom says no cartoons on Friday morning head for your kindle for some reading.

It is now late in the day on Sunday afternoon. Time to look what will happen this next week with the knowledge there will be some unknowns.  We have snow again today which is so needed for those baby plants in my greenhouse.

Enjoy your Sunday!
