Yarn Along

At this current time I knitting a hat for me.  It is my favorite color and it fun to just knit something simple.  One of the joys of parenting is bringing a little of your favorite past enjoyments to your children. My favorite set of books will always be Little House on the Prairie.  Over the years I have tried to read them to kids and about the time you hit Farmer Boy they are done.  My sister was talking about reading it to her little one so I decided to try again. I thought even if I have to read this all out loud to myself then that is what I will do and little by little one or maybe two will sit by me and listen.  I have even now heard some requests for this book!

I was just talking about that book series the other day with a friend and about how we want to read them to our children. I have been collecting the books when I come across them at thrift stores. My favorite was Little House in the Big Woods. I tried reading it to my eldest daughter a few years ago, but she wasn't at all interested much to my disappointment. I am still hoping my two younger children will like them. If not at least I will read them again before passing them on.

I have wonderful memories of my daddy reading us kids those books on winter nights as a child, then in 4th grade, my teacher read us the whole series. Now I get to share them with my kids. I absolutely love them:)
