Sunday Snapshot- A "little" red

It is the start of canning season again and I love it!
We had a little grasshopper war this year in our garden so the first beets to can were my Dad's. Today I ended up with ten quarts of my own.  They are a tad bit messy though.

But the end result is wonderful.  I saw a couple of yellow leaves this week. That can not be true!  Football has started and our beloved Bronco's have played. There is still much to do outside and I am hoping this wonderful weather lasts a long time.

We finished our first week of school.  Four tired kids by the end of the week but on a whole everyone did fine.  A semi quite weekend was in store so we will all be ready for this week.

Really? School already? I guess I shouldn't be surprised, it probably means yours get out of school a few weeks before mine do. My kiddos go back to school a week from tomorrow.

Your pickled beets remind me of this time of year at my grandma's house. Happy memories, thanks!

Your beets re beautiful! My mom has been canning beets too. Our garden is so late after getting wiped out by hail and signs of fall coming are here too. It's the middle of August in our usually very hot country and we slept with the windows open last night!
We have been back to school a week too!
