The Longest Day

Today was a long day but we are finally in Beijing. We arrived at about 2:15 pm this afternoon (Thursday). We came through Terminal 3 which just opened this year and is the largest airport terminal in the world. We found our guide "Mike" and he took us to our hotel which is approximately 45 minutes from the airport. He took us to the Chinese Palace where we had Peking Duck. It was awesome. We have some pictures of the plane (for Riley) and a few from dinner. I will write more tomorrow as I haven't slept much in the last few days.

Tomorrow we will see the Great Wall and Forbidden City.

P.S I am working on sending some pictures but I have to reduce the size first. The internet is very slow here, and by battery is not charging. I will work on that.

Hats

Look at all those Hats

I learned to knit so I could send hats to China, but what was amazing about this was not my knitting but that of two special women who contributed so many hats. When we packed we had 70 hats. This kind of generosity overwhelmed me. I hope that they are used to keep so many of the little angels at PingLiang warm!!

They are in the Air

Brian, Mom and Dad are on their way to Beijing at this current moment. The Day started early for them at DIA. We pray for their safety as they travel. We had some crazy last moments to get Brian ready to go and now the countdown has started until he gets Andy. The kids made paper chains so they may count down how many more days until Daddy and Andy come home.

As for us on the homefront we all miss Brian but we have been very busy. So many summer acitivies going on which I feel grateful for. Makes me have less time to think about what I am missing out on.

Two More Days until Travel Time

We are almost there. It has been nuts around here. The bags are packed, weighed many times and a week from today our son will be in his Dad's arms on Fathers Day. They will fly out very early on Wed and then head to Beijing for a couple days of site seeing. As for the home front we are getting ready for some time that will be very busy I feel. We repainted part of Riley's room this weekend and will spend time decorating during the next couple of weeks for our new brother!!

So stay tuned hopefully they will be able to post frequently from China.

Starting to Pack

We are starting to pack!!! Yeah. I love looking at those little boy clothes and thinking of my little man wearing them. We booked our international flight this morning and then will work on inland China travel in the next couple of days!! So the countdown is on. The kids and I are going to make paper chains to help them keep track how long Daddy will be gone and how long until Andy comes home.

Riley starts golf tomorrow. Right after his Dad's heart. He said he is a little nervous!!
