Celebrating Father's Day Now and Six Years Ago

Today we celebrated Father's Day and Andy's Gotcha Day.  Six years ago Brian became a Dad one more time as Andrew came into our life.  He changed us all in so many ways and stole our hearts. Brian has always been an amazing Dad to our kids and cares for them in so many ways.
This is from our camping trip this week.  This little man will have surgery again this week.  It will be a trying time for sure but I pray we will be able to manage his pain.  Then we will need to figure out ways to keep him still which will be a challenge in itself.

It has been a long time since  I have blogged. I miss it and I miss keeping this journal for our family.  Life has been nonstop for awhile and full of changes. Some which my heart has had trouble accepting but it is time to head back to this blog. A place for my beloved photos and the story of our life!

Celebrating One

A very special niece just turned one this week.  She had just one little tooth to eat her cake with!

A year ago this little one came to my sister's family through adoption. There is no doubt this little angel is loved by so many.  She is the baby of the family and has so many cousins to attend to her every need.

To look into those beautiful blue eyes you can see that life has a plan that has so many twists and turns.  So many events had to happen to make this little one a part of our family. Some were not fun and downright scary events, but when you look at this little one you see how right she is for my sister's family.

First Grade Trip

A day away from the classroom felt so good.  Our first graders took a trip to the mountains. It was for a day of education and fun.  The weather was perfect and seeing these little ones explore makes my heart very happy.

I split my day between Andy and Katie so was able to see them both catch a couple bugs in the pond as well as some hiking and bird watching.  These two are very different kids, each so very special in their own way.
As I was driving to the trip I was so very tired. Life has felt that way lately but a whole day of nature, no technology, and just enjoying my kids was just what I needed.

Happy Spring and Easter!

It feels so good to be outside playing.  A place to put all of our energy in a positive way.  There have been some trips to the park already with a little cousin.

He may be twelve but he still loves to play and join in the fun.  Most of his fun outside involves a ball of some sorts either hitting the side of the house or aiming at a goal.

This little one may not know it but her Uncle has a special place in his heart for her.
With Easter right around the corner I am so thankful for warmer weather and more chances to be outside.  We will celebrate a quite Easter this year with the six of us.  Mass in the morning and then a big brunch to follow.  I know an Easter egg hunt is in the works and hopefully a quite day with family.

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter!

Sand & Sun

A trip to the Sand Dunes was just what this family needed.  No big planning just family, fun, and even a little resting for some. The water did not start running until the afternoon, but when it did the kids loved all that mud!

The tracks of my little lady.

I think Brianna was very tired this day.  She spent a good amount of time just resting and soaking up the sun.

These two can be the best of buds. They are starting to spend more time playing together and this day was no exception. I love to watch their bond with each other.
Wishing you a beautiful Sunday.  We have snow in the forecast today after we wore shorts yesterday.  I am loving this spring weather and the blessing of moisture.

Thirty-Eight

This post is a week late on celebrating Brian's birthday, but as you can see he is having a lot of fun at thirty eight.  Is it no wonder that the kids call him the fun parent!  We headed to the sand dunes last week and he had to take his turn!
Of course what is a birthday without a pie made my his oldest daughter and four kids to celebrate with!  Oh how they love their Daddy!
