Soccer is Back

We are back in the routine of soccer for Riley this spring.

As a mother I have put my heels in the ground about how "competitive" a league we are playing on.  After all that means more schedules, practice, and less time to be a family here at home.  However, I have had to adjust and embrace that we now have a bigger kid who wants to play just a little more competitively.  So this spring we let Riley play on this team with more practices and games in town.

I get it as I remember wanting to dance more and move on in the ballet world.

Of course that means taking everyone along but it looks as they too have adjusted!

I have to say I love to watch him play on that "big" field!  Maybe in the end it is just hard for Mom to watch him grow up!

These are taken with my Canon 60d and a 70-200 lens.

Saturdays Garden

These past two weeks we have been spending a lot of time in the garden. Our little apple tree for the first time has flowers on it!

The tomatoes and cucumbers are among the many greenhouse plants that are almost ready to go outside.

I love these wall of waters for my tomatoes. They are not that much fun to fill but now they are almost ready to house some of the larger tomatoes.

If this watermelon produces this year we will have some very excited kids!

I have had a horrible time getting rhubarb to grow so we will try again!

Sweetness

Found just a couple more Easter photos to post.  Our niece was as cute as could be on Easter.

The first time coloring eggs. What fun that was!

Just one and totally on the go!

Her cousins were kind enough to leave her a couple eggs!

I love her little eye poking through her hat!  I knew this hat would be short lived but how fun while it lasted. I truly think I will never get enough of little ones! How fun they are!

A little more Easter

There was no shortage of photos this Easter.  Out of the many I took this one was my favorite. Brianna is walking our little one year old niece.  I love this photo because I see in Bri what her and I have in common.  She loves babies and wanted more than anything yesterday to take care of our niece.  With all that was going on that is what she wanted.  I can understand Brianna's love of children.

Brianna and Katie right at a stopping point in the egg hunt.

The boys are all about the sport of egg hunting. They both ran to gather eggs and compare their finds.

See I do exist!  Every once in awhile I have to remember to pass my camera off so my kids can see that I was actually at some of these events!

A pond in a backyard full of gold fish was enough to make this boy sit still for a long time.  He sat and waited for them to come by and bit his finger.

Katie was funny as she did not want to use her Easter basket only a bag would do for her on this Easter!

Easter Preparations

The start of Easter began for us at Palm Sunday Mass.

We would actually have a snow day this week which lead to dying Easter Eggs.  I have to say my vision of this photo was your nice yellow, blue, and green eggs but after much dipping and dipping again this is what I received.  Some even cracked from all the coloring!

Eighteen eggs was hardly enough I was told.

One of the things I remember about dying eggs was the cups my Grandma always used. I wonder if my kids will remember those kind of details.

Some hands will be forever colored I believe!

Happy Birthday Brian

Happy Birthday Brian!  Brian's birthday was this weekend but I am just not getting to this post.  A birthday around here is a kids heart and joy.  It doesn't matter who celebrates they are all excited.  We spent the day watching soccer, then lunch out, and home to ride bikes.  His choice of dinner was stromboli and brownies for dessert.  Brian has a lot on his plate at the moment. Too much it seems.  He is finishing his banking school paper which will complete his studies this summer with graduation.  I don't think we say enough how much we love and appreciate him:)

P.S. on a side note I have spent way to much time working with our blog so let me know what you think???  So far I have the opinion of the 10 and under crowd:)
